Congratulations on filling out the Free Lesson form, you are on your way to solving any frustrations or questions you may have had before about how to play the guitar and what to practice. I feel confident in telling you that learning how to play the guitar is very fun and exciting with me.
Here's what will happen next...
I always try to call students back within the same day, but if you don't receive a call today I'm probably teaching and will call you as soon as I get a chance. Since we will be speaking soon, I want to take this time to tell you a little bit about myself so you can get a feel for who I am.
My name is Richard Freeman and I have been playing and studying music for the past 20 years. I am highly motivated and dedicated to every one of my students, and I take pride in delivering results. I teach children and adults from beginning levels through advanced levels. I currently play lead/rhythm guitar at the Kendall Oasis in Kendall FL. I took guitar lessons at the early age of 8 years old, and quit. Why did I quit?
Because the lessons were boring.
I was forced to read music.
I didn't practice.
I learned a lot from that experience though. I learned that students need to have a teacher whom they trust, enjoy to be around and are held accountable by. I learned that you really don't need to know how to read musical notation to play music (more on this in person). I learned that children under 12 can't be held accountable for tending to their own practice routines (unless they are mature enough to take responsibility for their own practice). So who should be responsible for a child's practice routines? The parents should.
I have taken the lessons I learned at such an early stage and implemented them in my own business. In addition to just using the lessons learned from my own life, I use other peoples experiences to my advantage as well. I consistently network with guitar teachers from all across this planet and we develop strategies and techniques that have been propelling our students to "get good fast".
I always look for ways to provide my students with the chance to play with other musicians and to make friends. I keep my lessons fun without jeopardizing the educational factor; and students really cherish the time spent learning as opposed to dreading the lessons. I have worked with players of all ages/levels and understand the importance that patience plays in being an effective teacher. I look forward to helping you reach your musical goals, feel free to send any questions to me at: TunedInGuitarLessons@gmail.com
