Christ Fellowship Beginner Guitar Class
Purchasing a guitar for your child is incredibly important. These guitar recommendations are smaller 3/4 guitars that are not full size guitars. These are better suited for your child’s height & hand size.
I’ve listed here the guitars I’ve found over the years to be pretty reliable for the price. You may be able to find less expensive options, but please trust me, they aren’t any good! These recommendations are guitars I’ve worked with and know how to tweak if needed. Also, I recommend buying from Guitar Center, because you will have a 45 day return period, should you decide to switch or return the instrument for any reason. You will most likely have to order the guitar online and have it delivered, which will take about 3-5 days. You can check in the store, but most of the time it’s just easier to order online.
I do understand this might be a lot to invest in, so please know that the only “must haves” are:
Guitar
Tuner
Multicolored Strings
Please don’t worry about purchasing a guitar amp. They can practice without one in the beginning, and often parents buy amps that are way too big. If you really want to buy one though, here are a few small practice amp recommendations:
$46.60 Super mini headphone amp “Vox Blues”
"$129 This is a good really small practice amp: “Spark Go”
$209 My personal favorite practice amp “Yahama THR5”
$229 The Spark Go’s bigger brother amp “Spark Mini”
Please make sure you order this set of multi-colored guitar strings!
If you know how to change strings, please purchase these strings and put them on the guitar. If you need help, We can meet the first week of class and I will change them for you. This is going to help me get the kids to know what strings I want them playing :)
$10.95 - Multi-Colored Guitar Strings
Snark - Clip On Guitar Tuner
